Deborah Lippmann Holiday Shades 2010

If you like sparkly things then you are going to go Gaga for Deborah Lippmann's luscious sequined infused shades from her 2010 holiday collection; Boom Boom Pow and Today Was A Fairytale.

The pair was inspired by the likes of Kate Moss, Cher and Mariah Carey. Deborah describes Boom Boom Pow as “glamorous gold stream glitter” (It contains 24k Gold Dust) and Today Was A Fairytale as “silvery blue starlight glitter (It contains Virgin Diamond Powder). We describe them as pure genius.

Both have chucks of glitter particles, dries quickly and are free of formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP.

5 Reasons We Are Longing For Fall

The days are getting shorter and the nights a bit nippy. Damn it's August and summer is already disappearing. The bright spot is when we look at the Fall/Winter 2010 collections and see so much colour we are (gasp!) actually looking forward to the cooler weather.

Ecco Shoes
For more than 40 years ECCO has prided themselves making quality, comfortable footwear. Their commitment to lessening their carbon footprint is an integral part of their company’s mandate – so you can shop guilt free. Although it’s hard to pick a favourite, those ankle hugging booties are a definite hit.

Garments and Accessories from Danier
Having already expressed our long love affair with Danier, this fall season we are still “crazy in love.” Head to the store and check out their superb line of accessories. Textures, colours and studs are a big part of the collection. And if you think is all about leather, take a look at the puffy down filled jacket pictured below.

Danier, we have one tiny request – more sexy leather dresses pretty please.

Textile Accessories from Marthe Aimé

Brother and sister duo, Steven Asei-Dantoni and Barbara Asei-Dantoni, like to keep it in the family. She designs, he markets, a perfect combination. What is also perfect is using these textile accessories to dress up your classic wardrobe.

Leggings and Tights From Secret

When we opened the box and saw all the delicious colours from Secret’s Colour Me Pretty line of tights and leggings, we squealed (yes we are admitting to that). Black and brown are staples, but think of the fun you will have adding colours like berry, plum and camel to your basic black outfit. Suddenly the short, gray days and cold nights of fall and winter won’t be so gloomy.

A big thanks to Peter and Ashley of Ashworth Associates and the people at Secret for brightening our day.

Sheepskin From Ugg

When we first discovered sheepskin for our feet, we thought heaven must actually exist. After just an hour of being outside and having our feet turn to ice blocks we ran to pick up several pairs of boots with the soft warm pelt inside. Nothing, in our estimation, keeps the feet warmer. Fast forward a few years, and we are are becoming converts. UGGS haven’t always had the most fashionable reputation, but many closeted fans, André Leon Talley and our own Jeanne Beker, being a couple. That rep should change with fall/winter 2010 collection. We are already envisioning sitting in front of a fire wearing the cozy cable knit slippers and padding around town in the Rylans.

Bruno Ierullo - In Living Colour

Designer Bruno Ierullo recently celebrated the opening of his 3000 square foot boutique on St. Nicolas Street, in downtown Toronto. Looking at his vibrant collection of bold colours and sexy cuts, it's hard not to think happy thoughts. We spoke to the Bruno about his love of colour and here’s what he had to say:

"
Clothing is our second skin. It shows people who we are. It’s our self expression. So why it is always toned down?"

"I am introducing more colour to my clothing and clashing the different colours together seem to all come out very positive.
"

"
First thing people do is shy away from using anything bold, but bold is beautiful. When you see colours, colours make you happy."

"The colour combinations really come alive and make you break out of your shell. Hopefully the second skin you are wearing will uplift you and make you want to go out there and live life
."
