It was "An Evening to Remember" for more than 1200 guests at the 2007 Cathay Ball, the Mon Sheong Foundation's annual fundraising gala. Proceeds raised will go towards launching a new Senior Day Care Centre and to supporting the Foundation's three long-term facilities in Richmond Hill, Scarborough and downtown Toronto.

The cocktail reception was followed by an opening dance by the Viva Dance Group, eight talented teenagers under the age of 16, specializing in ballroom dancing. VIP's and sponsors were recognized and the National Anthem was sung prior to a fabulous filet mignon four-course meal fit for a king.

The feature performer was Patrizia, who is known for what may be called Alternative Operatic Rock. Her chilling four-octave operatic voice had the stage presence and attitude of a rock star. What a thrilling performance! Returning again, the Laura Lynn Band was another well received act that included some of the finest of Toronto and Canada's session musicians.

As you can tell from the entertainment, this was an exceptional evening of celebrating many things. In fact, another highlight of the Cathay Ball was the presentation of the Silver Jubilee Awards of Excellence Scholarships, during which ten outstanding high school students received an award in recognition for their all-round academic, social and community achievements.
