Details: An evening dedicated to the splendour, rhythms, heart and soul that is Jamaica in celebration of 50 years of independence. Hosted by CBC Television’s Dwight Drummond and Anne-Marie Mediwake, the evening features presentations and top entertainment toasting Jamaica and honouring great Canadian-Jamaican achievements. The spectacular, four-part evening includes The Reception, Dinner in Hope Gardens, Jamaica Jubilee and The After Party.
The entertainment artists include Jay Douglas with the All-Stars Orchestra, Mutabaruka, Kreesha Turner, Derrick Harriott, Leroy Gibbons, Steele, Nana McLean, Ammoye and more!
During Dinner in Hope Gardens, guests will dine on fine Jamaican-inspired cuisine surrounded by four gardens evocative by Jamaica’s Royal Botanical Gardens popularly known as Hope Gardens. Additionally, the Carpenters and Allied Workers Local 27 are supporting the GALA through the construction and installation of the main stage formed in the shape of the island of Jamaica!
